Priority & Eligibility:
The Kings Mountain Volunteer Fire Brigade (KMVFB) is responsible for the safety and protection of the Kings Mountain community. Fire Brigade activities always take priority and may preempt scheduled events at any time, without notice.
The Community Center (CC) may be used only by dues-paying or otherwise qualified KMVFB members. KMVFB and Kings Mountain Association (KMA) are separate entities; each requires its own membership dues. Use is restricted by KMVFB’s nonprofit and insurance policies.
Non-resident sponsorship for private use is not permitted, except under extraordinary circumstances approved by the KMVFB Board.
License Agreement, Fee & Insurance:
Recurring Use License Agreement – for classes, meetings, or community events

*Light refreshments only. No hot food preparation is allowed. Time includes setup and cleanup.
Cleaning Deposit:
$500 for full-day private events
$200 for small events
Cleaning deposits are fully refundable if the facility is left clean, undamaged, and in compliance with contract terms.
Insurance Requirement:
Private events require a Certificate of Insurance (COI) naming KMVFB as an additional insured. COI example. KMVFB will reimburse current volunteer firefighters for cost of the COI.
Steps to Reserve:
1. Confirm eligibility as a current KMVFB member.
2. Check availability on Kings Mountain IO Group calendar.
3. Submit request to Building Manager, Kathy Shubin at kdramir@yahoo.com, include purpose of event, date and time frame requested.
Steps upon Reservation Approval:
Download and complete appropriate license agreement above (Single or Recurring Use).
Provide Building Manager with two separate checks (event fee and refundable deposit) and Certificate of Insurance for one day use or ongoing, for recurring use.
Schedule pre-event walk-through with Building Manager to review facility access, equipment availability, and clean-up procedures.
Several days before event, arrange to collect building key from Building Manager.
After key is returned and facilities are inspected, deposit check will be shredded, if all conditions are met.
Use of Facilities:
Cook Shack:
Limited to approved KMA events.
Not available for private events.
Equipment & Furniture:
Kitchen cookware, utensils, etc. may be used, but are not guaranteed in condition or quantity.
Plastic chairs may not be removed from the building.
Picnic tables must stay in the Cook Shack area.
BBQ is reserved for KMVFB and KMA community events only.
Other available items such as sound system, cordless mic, projector, screen, podium and coat rack must be approved in advance by Building Manager.
Conference Room:
Tables and chairs may not be removed from the building.
No food preparation or serving is allowed in the conference room.
Clean-Up Procedure:
Facilities must be left clean and orderly. All trash and recyclables must be removed or placed in designated bins. Users may be charged for excessive cleaning, damage, or leftover disposal.
Conduct post-event walk through with Building Manager (if required).
Ensure lights are off and building is locked.
Return key to Building Manager (as agreed upon).
Safety & Security Rules:
No smoking indoors, or hazardous activities. Smoking materials must be disposed of properly.
No unattended candles or candles outdoors. Candles must be in safe containers.
Ceiling baffles may not be removed.
Music and sound levels must remain reasonable.
Children must be supervised at all times.
Fire lanes and parking areas must remain clear to allow for Fire Department emergency response.
Parking (Arranged through Building Manager):
Overnight Parking (up to 30 days): $10/day per vehicle
Carpool/Home Event Parking (up to 25 cars): $30/day
No security provided for parked vehicles.
Apparatus Bays:
Use of Apparatus Bays for any event must be approved by both the Fire Chief and KMVFB Board. This area remains under control of the Kings Mountain Fire Department.
Right to Deny Use:
KMVFB and Building Manager reserve the right to deny use of the facility.
