Regular members of Kings Mountain Volunteer Fire Brigade (KMVFB) must be the head of a household, at least 18 years old, and reside in or own property within the community as defined in the KMVFB bylaws. Regular dues-paying members have voting rights and, along with their household members, may enjoy all other rights and privileges of the organization.
Individuals who live outside the community boundaries may apply for membership by petitioning the Board of Directors. If approved by a majority of the Board and upon payment of current dues, they will be entitled to the same rights and privileges as regular members. The Board may also establish different types or classes of regular membership.
An honorary member is any person designated by the Board of Directors. Honorary members may enjoy all rights and privileges except holding office and voting.
Current and former firefighters of Kings Mountain Fire Department are entitled to regular membership without paying dues, provided they reside within the community.
Kings Mountain residents are encouraged to join KMVFB by contributing a minimum annual membership dues of $35 by January 1st each year. Membership dues paid in October or later will automatically carry forward into the following year.
